Northwood Reserves took a much-needed point from Angus Douglas's first game in charge, coming from behind to force a draw against their fellow-strugglers.
 
Several players were making their Suburban League debuts alongside some more experienced players in the need of a run-out, having not played in recent weeks.
 
The home side enjoyed plenty of possession in the first-half and Woods goalkeeper Ben Dowsett made a couple of good stops to keep the scores level, though chances were few and far between as Northwood defended solidly. Sam Sharples and Scott Raper both gradually increased their understanding in the centre of midfield but despite some lively running from Matt Andrews, they lacked any real potency up front.
 
After a goalless first half, the home side looked to press home their advantage but their hopes were hit when they added to their three first-half yellow cards with a straight red for a show of aggression. Yet Northwood were slow to react to having an extra man, and Beaconsfield took the lead midway through the half when substitute Junior Arunda pounced on some sloppy defending and slotted home coolly.
 
It was only going a goal behind that seemed to spur the Woods onto better things. They immediately introduced the two substitutes, with Dominic Franklin quickly fitting into the left-back position and the evergreen Steve Hale making his presence known up front. They started to get the ball forward quicker and with Dujon Desagurante starting to threaten down the left, an equaliser looked likely.
 
That finally came after 82 minutes after a free-kick was awarded for a foul on Raper just outside the box. Hale took the kick and when the goalkeeper was unable to hold onto his strike, it was defender Ed Hatcher who reacted quickest to fire home the loose ball.
 
It was Northwood who looked most likely to take all three points in the closing stages, but Sycob held on to share the points and both sides were pretty satisfied at the end.
